چکیده
This paper presents capability of Eulerian CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) approach using sensitivity-analysis-based model to predict subcooled boiling flows in the DEBORA experiment, conditions corresponding those PWRs (Pressurized Water Reactors). The main feature developed is a good estimation void fraction distribution cross section heated pipe, not only lower regime but also high (>0.5), which achieved by modifying lift force coefficients Baglietto’s group. In addition, Sauter diameter profile well predicted employing MUSIG population balance model, coalescence and breakage factors are tuned experiments. A nucleation site density recently proposed Li employed together with Tolubinsky Kostanchuk bubble departure whose coefficient again obtained via sensitivity analysis. this work, CTU-PSI expected be applied flow simulations PWRs.

Development of Two-phase Flow Cfd Code (eagle) with Interfacial Area Transport Equation for Analysis of Subcooled Boiling Flow
The interfacial area transport equation for a subcooled boiling flow is developed with a mechanistic model for the wall boiling source term. It includes the bubble lift-off diameter model and the lift-off frequency reduction factor model. Those models take into account a bubble’s sliding on the heated wall after a departure from the nucleate site and the coalescences of sliding bubbles. To impl...

Population balance equations combined with a threedimensional two-fluid model are employed to predict bubbly flows with the presence of heat and mass transfer processes. Subcooled boiling flow belongs to this specific category of bubbly flows is considered. The MUSIG (MUltiple-SIze-Group) model implemented in CFX4.4 is further developed to account for the wall nucleation and condensation in the...
متن کاملSensitivity Study of Eulerian Multiphase Boiling Models: Nphase-cmfd
Reliance on multiphase fluid-dynamics models, which are developed with relatively limited experimental data, requires a quantitative assessment of the solution variability due to the approximations. In this paper, uncertainty in the Eulerian multiphase boiling model in the Nphase-CMFD code is assessed in the context of the DEBORA test case and the CRUD problem. The models under consideration ar...
متن کاملForced Convection Subcooled Boiling of Binary Mixtures
A mode based on an additive mechanism of heat transfer is proposed for forced convection subcooled boiling of binary mixtures. The contributing modes of heat transfer are: (i) the heat transferred as latent heat by the rising bubbles, (ii) the heat transferred as the heat contained in the superheated thermal layer that is removed from the surface in the wake of the rising bubbles and (iii) the ...
